Churín Hot Springs

A valley of healing waters and pure energy in the heart of the Peruvian Andes

Set amidst mountains and traversed by crystal-clear rivers, Churín Thermal Baths are a natural paradise where the earth’s purest energy emerges as warm, steaming, medicinal springs. This enchanting Andean destination combines stunning natural beauty, ancient traditions, and holistic wellness, drawing travelers in search of rest, rejuvenation, and a genuine connection with nature.

Where We Are & How to Get Here

The hot springs are located in the Churín Valley, Pachangara District, Oyón Province, in the Lima region, at approximately 2,260 meters above sea level
Churín is nestled among lush green mountains and deep valleys, with a temperate climate that makes it ideal to visit any time of the year.

Access is by road: from Lima city, the journey takes between 4 and 5 hours via the Sayán–Churín route, a scenic crossing that passes through fields, canyons, and rural villages. The road is mostly paved and safe, although it has some short unpaved sections (gravel/dirt road) between Sayán and Churín. We recommend traveling during the day to enjoy the rural landscapes peacefully

Highlights of the Area

The Churín Hot Springs are famous for their mineral composition and therapeutic properties. They emerge at temperatures ranging from 35°C to 60°C, and their waters are rich in cobalt, iron, and magnesium—ideal for rejuvenating the skin and relieving physical fatigue

The thermal complex consists of several sets of baths:

  • The Mamahuarmi Complex, the most popular, is set among striking rock formations and natural waterfalls, offering outdoor pools and steam-filled caves.
  • The La Juventud Thermal Complex has waters that contain lithium, which is why they are famous for helping to relax the nervous system, combat stress and insomnia.
  • The La Meseta Complex, located in the upper part of the valley, features private pools and panoramic views of the landscape. It is known for having waters with temperatures reaching 35°C–40°C. Its waters are rich in sulfur and iron, recommended for joint and bone conditions
